Studies show that students who engage early and often in their college learning and career development have a greater likelihood of early and sustained career success.

It is easier than you think to take your first steps as an emerging professional. Here are three things you can do in less than a week:

  • Use career assessment tools to identify career interests
  • Create an accomplishment-focused resume
  • Identify three career development internships

And, try to accomplish these goals during your first semester:

  • Get to know your academic and career counselors and advisors
  • Identify leadership opportunities in student government, clubs, and organizations
  • Land an on-campus job
  • Register for a career development and planning course
